Here is the Beaufort
I bet he's back next week complaining about it.You'll love it.
If it messes up my car seat I would!I bet he's back next week complaining about it.
Yes it does have a heft to it. I don't own any trench coats to comment on that but it's definitely heavier than my cashmere blend top coat.Wait, a Beaufort, without a liner, is heavy? Heavier than a trench coat? I totally disagree. Are you sure you bought a Beaufort?
You are better off having bought a Beaufort from Orvis rather than a Barbour store . Go figure . I've found Orvis to provide much better customer service . I brought a Beaufort in for repair a couple of years ago that had a torn pocket and Orvis insisted on exchanging it for a new one instead .I went with the Beaufort thank you all!
Agreed! I can't remeber when was the last time I paid full retail for an item. Their costumer service was top notch! Similar boat here. Because of the hood, I pretty much only wear my Barbours, suit or not, prefreezing. I have a (now) too-big Border and a sweet Beaufort.why would you want to wear it over a suit?
You posted before looking for a trench coat. Are you now looking at Barbour as an alternative to that?
I also have the Beaufort and wear it with a liner. It's good when temps are no lower than the mid 30's. Below that, I'm afraid it's not enough coat, even with the liner.Similar boat here. I have a tan Sanyo trench, which is about 3 years old, worn three times I am going to get rid of because it is now too big.
Pair it with a Shetland sweater and you will be fine!I also have the Beaufort and wear it with a liner. It's good when temps are no lower than the mid 30's. Below that, I'm afraid it's not enough coat, even with the liner.
I've been very happy with my purchase. But yes all the hardware and extra pockets does make it heavy. And nothing is wrong with that. it's a quality made item.Quickly scrolled through as I recently joined the Barbour ranks - but I feel a bit like I landed in the Twilight Zone.
1) Barbour coats over a suit?
2) A waxed cotton coat being too heavy?
I mean.... I just....
Never mind.![]()
My Barbour has 8 exterior pockets and God knows how many zippers and snaps. The day I find this coat heavy is the very day I finally succumb to a gym membership and structured weight training. Small wonder the lapel pin doesn't tip me right over. (I kid, I kidI've been very happy with my purchase. But yes all the hardware and extra pockets does make it heavy. LOL. My friend, my gym membership has nothing to do with the weight of the jacket, but it helps me to continue fitting into my Barbour! My Barbour has 8 exterior pockets and God knows how many zippers and snaps.
