What exactly is the definition of "double-soled" shoe?
This shoes have thick leather sole. But they have only single leather sole.Shoes soled with double thickness of leather. I have a pair of Llloyd and Haig that are double soled. In more modern terms think Trickers.
That actually is a double sole, with two layers of sole material. No cow hide is that thick when finished. If you look closely at the bright parts along the edge, you can see a faint line that is consistent along the side...that is the boundary between the two layers. They're probably just glued together so tight they look like one layer. This shoes have thick leather sole. But they have only single leather sole.
There are two layers of leathers-welt and a sole.
Can you call them double soled shoes?

No, I mean the line below that. There are two distinct lines, though the seam between sole and welt is more pronounced.Actually, I think that is the seam between welt and sole. Below that, there are a few extra layers of leather. The welt itself seems to be thicker than average, as well.
yeah, i agree with teacher. there are two lines in the shoe ipost #6, so three layers. one is the welt, the other 2 are layers of the double sole. No, I mean the line below that. There are two distinct lines, though the seam between sole and welt is more pronounced.
