I would like to buy some socks for my boyfriend and im looking for a trusted brand that sell quality socks. Does any one know where i can find?
I heard about Pedemeia and Happy Socks. Are they good?

I've purchased from Pedemeia. And I'm very pleased with their socks. The quality is good and they are sturdy, and I believe they offer good value for their quality. As I'm sure you've noted, they sell a large variety, both plain and fancy. I sought them out for some more elaborate versions, but their plain socks look very nice too, if that is what is desired.

This is an example of a more elaborate version -

Any of these makers provide bright colors? I have had about all the black and grey socks I can stand. Single bright colors without pattern are what I'm looking for.

I've been targeted by ads from a newish sock outfit called Dueple with exactly these sorts of socks. It's a lot of marketing (nice boxes, for example) but they *look* good on paper (well, to a non-sock-expert).

Perhaps someone here has tried them.

I'll probably order a box of 5 ($55 sale) to give them a whirl; haven't yet, though.

I have experience with the following brands (all over the calf socks) in the order as presented:
  1. Gold Toe: great price - I started with these socks and didn't know at the time what would happen if I put them in the dryer. I quickly learned and moved onto the Nordstrom socks (I wanted a higher wool content)
  2. Nordstrom: These were my go to socks for the past 5 years or so. Some of the heels are wearing thin but they have held up. Relatively thin sock (which I like). Transitioned to Pantherella a year or so ago
  3. Kabbaz: The pair was relatively thick and offered in a "one size fits all" - wasn't as fitted as I would have preferred
  4. Marcoliani: A cashmere/silk blend pair shrunk a tremendous amount despite it never seeing the inside of a dryer so I'm not sure what happened there - it went from an over the calf sock to a long anklet sock
  5. Pantherella: These are my go to socks since about a year ago. Relatively thin, a tremendous number of colors/patterns, "tailored" socks available in a few colors/materials (a given size spans 1-2 whole shoe sizes rather than all of them such as is offered by some brands, the best fit I've had to date). Unfortunately the lions share of the colors/patterns are offered in the long anklet size and not the over the calf but I have bought sock garters to open up that selection for me :)

I was coming in here to add them. I recently purchased a 2nd round of socks. I really like these. Personally I'll pay slightly more to buy here vs. Pedemia; quality step up worth it. I will caveat that they have a set of thicker cotton and wool socks that I buy specifically. I have low insteps and they help fill in some of my shoes on days <90 degrees.

And the nice red bags. :)
