A pair of suede Loake Plimico's that I ordered the other week.

My question is-what type of socks does one usually wear with Chukkas? Regular socks, boot socks? Etc?

Thank you again for everyone's advice!

ESB,
Either can work, depending on the thickness of the sock and fit of the boot. As it happens, I'm wearing my suede chukkas at the moment, and am wearing crew socks of the same color. But they're not particularly heavy crew socks. Most boot socks are thicker. Some more than others. So if your boot is a closer fit, some of them might be too thick. But I find my chukkas, all be it U.S. made, comfortable with regular "dress" socks, crew socks, or thinner boot socks.

I wore my English made Loake Plimicos first with regular socks and it was a bit spacious but not problematic in some areas.

While when I wore my thicker boot socks with them. They were actually quite tight but I don't think the Loakes unworkable with boot socks ether.

Then again I think the boot socks I have(which were made by J.Crew) only work well with heavier boots or something like the Bean ones.

Seems like the issue is mostly about sizing, not about the type of socks.

İf you have to ask, they probably look off to you with your particular boot socks.

I'd try to find thicker dress socks. I agree that regular boot socks probably look better with heavier boots.

Dress sock thickness range may be enough to adjust the fit within about one quarter of a size or so (also depends on how you like your chukkas to fit in the first place). More than that, and you'll probably need insoles or heel pads. But it doesn't sound like you do.

Ah, ha, Goldilocks Syndrome! ;)

Then you might try crew socks, and see if they're "just right!"

While I'm not wild about much from Lands End any longer, I've purchased their mostly cotton colored crew socks recently, and they're not bad. You might consider them.

I have no idea what "boot socks" are. With my Chukkas, I wear whatever socks compliment both boot and trousers.
+1. Dressier socks with dressier trousers and chunkier ones when going casual. The chukka has to be one that suits both occasions, though. The Pimlico you ordered should suit the bill as it's sleek enough to work with nicer odd trousers, but also with more casual ones.
