Warm weather rain hat?

Hats beat umbrellas as far as I am concerned. I know there are tweedy wool rain hats, and and floppy sloppy bucket/fishing caps, but what other options are there for headgear when it is both wet and warm out? Specifically, something in that business casual grey area between truly casual and truly business, say linen and seersucker. Some felt or tweed hat is too heavy, but a frumpy cloth hat is too relaxed. What am I missing in options here?

Every Tilley hat I see has those big brass grommets and shoelace neckstrap which give off a rugged rather than dapper appearance to my eye.
Agree completely with the Tilley...esp. the T4.
I agree with Tempest. I have had several Tilleys and and invariably after purchasing one look forward to it's death, which never seems to happen. Functional for sailing in lighter to moderate winds, incongruous with your stated goal of working with seersucker or linen. I too am interested in different responses!

Waxed cotton perhaps?

I once had a waxed cotton flat cap that kept the rain off my head and glasses. It wore out and I haven't encountered another. Filson waxed cotton hats are a bit better looking than Tillys, and they do keep the rain off head and face.

I sometimes wear a Stetson Moose River fedora sold by LL Bean. It keeps the rain off and looks a lot better than the Filson waxed hats.

Hope this helps,
Gurdon
