When I wear sweaters I usually wear them alone (I wear a lot of v neck tees though). I was just wondering what style I should have more of.
Is it also coincidence that your avatar on SF is a closeup of a crewneck sweater?Crewneck, with a shirt under it. Can't stand the look of a sweater without a shirt under it. I don't own any v-necks, but that's just coincidence.
At least I'm consistent. :icon_viking:Is it also coincidence that your avatar on SF is a closeup of a crewneck sweater?
Crewneck, with a shirt under it. Can't stand the look of a sweater without a shirt under it.
Emphatic agreement with both these comments.I do not find a crewneck paired with a collared shirt to be restrictive/constraining, so that is my preference to wear without a tie. With a tie, I prefer v-necks.
I don't think they look weird, but agree that with a tie they look better.I think v-necks without ties look weird, they show too much of the shirtfront and seem unbalanced without the tie.
Only if the sweater is a sweater vest with a V-neck should one feel crazy enough to wear one without suiting a tie. Acceptable maybe if you're lacking sophistication. It's completely unacceptable and should be shunned. Just look at James Bond practicing his good sense and wearing the tie/sweater combo.I can't say I agree with the v-neck should be only worn with a tie statement.
With or without a tie is acceptable and standard practice.
