Uniqlo oxford shirt - quality

Hello,

I was hoping to get some information regarding the quality of Uniqlo's oxford shirts. I do not live in a country where I have the opportunity to visit a store, so I was wondering if anyone could tell me something about the quality of the shirts. How are they compared to Polo Ralph Lauren's oxford shirts? Is it worth it when I have to buy them through a proxy and pay for overseas shipping?

Heard a lot of great things of these shirts, so I was hoping if anyone could elaborate a bit further, and possibly compare them to RL's, since I already have some of them, in both custom and slim fit.

Thanks in advance.

I've had a Uniqlo shirt for a few years. Fairly well-made, but very slim. No idea how contemporary PRL shirts hold up or how the fits really work, but I know I like Ralph's collar a little better (in general). Both are too stubby to wear with a tie. I prefer the pocket to the pony.

I don't have any PRL shirts, but I have a couple Uniqlo shirts. Their shirts and products are generally nice and casual, but I wouldn't ship them from overseas and pay through a proxy, personally, anymore than I would for an item from Target. Uniqlo are nicely-made products and priced accordingly, but once you have to ship and boost up the price I'm not sure if it's worth it, especially if the shipping is going to really boost up the cost.

Thanks for replying! Unfortunately, the only oxford shirts I have for reference are the ones from PRL, and I've been very satisfied about the quality of them. In terms of both proxy and shipping, I think it would add maybe 45 dollars to the total cost. I've thought about the same thing, whether it would be worth it, but when I'm first going to order I was planning on ordering several oxford shirts and some sweaters, so it wouldn't be so bad.

Check out Charles Tyrwhitt.
I bought one of their ocbd shirts the other day and I'm pretty happy with it.
They have a promotion on at the moment if you use this link to access their site....

Shirt for £20 sterling and a free tie.

I have some Uniqlo flannel shirts and the quality is good, but that's a more casual option.

I checked out the Charles Tyrwhitt store and read some reviews about it online, and I must say that I'm quite interested. Seems to have gotten quite good reviews, and seems to be selling both quality clothing and shoes for quite a reasonable price. Getting a quality oxford for 20 pounds sounds quite tempting. How is the fit on the shirts?

I have a few of their shirts. 16 collar and 33 sleeve, and usually go for the slim fit.
This time I ordered the extra slim fit in "Medium" and I'm happy with the fit.

I have a Uniqlo OCBD and wear it as a beater shirt or under a sweater. I find the sleeves to be rather short and the chest tighter than what i prefer (i usually wear 15/34 in BB OCBD Slim Fit). Also, the length is too short for my liking and comes untucked easily. For the price its ok for wearing around the house or extremely casually, untucked and w/ just a few buttons.

They're a Japanese brand so it makes sense. I have the same problem with many Asian brands, shoulders or hips too narrow, or it's too short somewhere.

To the OP, I ordered some CT shirts, I ended up returning them, but that was a fairly painless process (though I lost the cost of shipping). As others have hinted, Uniqlo are a casual wear brand so it depends what you want the shirts for, but it's a lot of effort for a fairly standard product. I've got them only cause they're in the mall down the road. I'd suggest to go for a shirt company, there's enough of them online.
