Sperry Topsiders help

Hi all- I bought a pair of Topsiders from Zappos, which is the only place I can find with my size. They look pretty rode hard just from someone else's trying them on - wrinkled and dry and they seem to scuff just by looking at them. The person maybe tried on only one shoe and it shows. Soooooo ... I bought another pair to see if I could pick the best ones of the four. There's one pair still available so kicking that around!

Is there a product I can use to treat them against scuffing? They are naturally a light brown so don't want to go much darker. Are they still good quality - my current ones are 15+ years old. Thank you.

My Sperry Topsiders are dark brown, bought from Zappos, and they looked brand new when I bought them. The condition of these ones reminds me of the Rancourt Ranger Mocs from last year. IMO they look used and abused. I don't mind at all if I scuff them and of course eventually they'll look well worn, just don't want them looking that way when I buy them.

I go through a pair a year, not necessarily Sperrys, although that's what I'm using right now. I insist on dark brown and a white sole.

The Sperrys arrived from Zappos in new condition, and one week into it they are pretty banged up. Heel counter is gone, by design, so I can wriggle into them without using my hands. One has a nice scrape on it, I don't know how I managed that.

LL Bean's Casco Bay version used to be my go-to, they were always substantially cheaper than Sperry. But they stopped offering the brown/white combo so sayonara.

I wear boat shoes all summer for general knocking around. I fish somewhere between 150-200 days per year, so easy on-off is critical. The fall/winter/early spring choice is a Bean boot moc.

For boat shoes and camp mocs, I love Quoddy. I get several years, so far, from a pair, and they still look fine. The soles can be replaced. I used to wear boat shoes all the time, back when Sperry made Kudus. When those went away I tried a few of their newer models and gave out. Then I tried Rancourt camp moss but found they started, which I assume are the same as what Quoddy calls canoe shoes, looking misshapen quickly. My Quoddy camp mocs are, so far, superb. They also have red soles I like a lot.
