Shrinking Sweaters?

I have two sweaters that are just a tad to big and I'd like to shrink them a bit. The first is an LL Bean cotton crew neck and the 2nd is a 100% silk cable crew neck sweater from Polo (w/o logo). The silk weater says "dry-clean" only, and i don't remember washing it since i purchased it.

The LL bean sweater is just a shade to big, while the Polo one could use a little more shrinking. Any recommendations?

Thanks,

I shrunk a few wool and cashmere sweaters this summer, with very good results. They were mediums, whereas I wear a small. I did them one by one, first putting them in a pillowcase, tied shut, then washed them on the most gentle cycle, using woolite. I then tossed them in the dryer on medium heat until they were just damp, and laid them out to dry the rest of the way. Worked perfectly for me, but I wouldn't risk it on sweaters I cared about a lot.

How much woolite did you use?
