Shopping In Houston

First off I would like to say that I am just starting to build my wardrobe and have very little knowledge on the subject. I am looking at suits right now and am having trouble finding something I like for the right price. I have mainly looked at Banks and BB up to this point. I do not like anything I found at Banks, and the best I have found so far is the 1818 Fitzgerald, however it is a bit pricy for what I am looking for.

Enough with the background, I will be in Houston for the next few days and am looking for a few good stores to look at. Any help/guidance would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

The Galleria and Harold's are all good places to browse. I picked up a great 1818 suit in glen plaid @ 40% off at the Galleria BB a couple weeks ago. When they have their sales, I feel quality BB is definitely worthwhile.

You could give the BB and Hugo Boss outlet a try along 290. The outlet BB stuff tends to be the 346 variety with most of the stuff is made in China or Malaysia. You may find 1818 stuff there but that is hit or miss. Don't know too much about the Hugo store.

There's NMLC and Saks off 5th out at Katy Mills about 30 minutes west of Houston off I-10. There can be some good suit/sportcoat deals out there. I get weekly announcements from Saks regarding store specials e.g. addtional 50% off shoes, B1G1 free on all suits, etc...

If you find yourself up near Austin or San Antonio, the outlets in San Marcos are a must.

If you want to visit a bespoke tailor, go by Nick Lopez's shop right across from the Galleria. They usually have a cutter working just inside their front window.

Hamilton custom shirts is also nearby on Richmond Ave.....an old Houston firm that sells nationally.

There's a new Nordstrom Rack across from the Galleria, next to a Marshall's that actually is worth a look....I've found RLPL and some other brands you wouldn't normally see in a Marshall's. Hermes is up the street as well.
