Meermin Ron Last Sizing (Loafers)

Paging Momsdoc....Momsdoc. Question for you (or anyone else).

I'm this close (holding index finger and thumb millimeters apart) to pulling the trigger on these Meermin MTO burgundy loafers:


I've been looking for a nice, well made burgundy loafer and was saddened when I missed the first MTO round of these, but luckily it's back. However, I'm wondering about the sizing. Does anyone here have experience with Meermin loafers on the Ron last and can suggest a size that can be compared to, let's say, the AE 5 last? I will also contact Meermin for their recommendation.

Also, I'm having trouble finding photos of Meermin loafter from on top. Anyone?

Sorry Spex, I haven't tried the loafers. Address your inquiry to Sandro or Pepe. They will be able to walk you thru it. They usually answer in a day or two. Don't be afraid to re-contact them if it goes beyond that. They are very helpful. I'd sent you a pic if I had one. Sorry.

i did come close to trying the blue suede loafer with a tie on top, but since I ordered the blue suede Chukkas, I passed. Let us know how they fit if they can work out the sizing for you.

I'm a 10.5D US in everything, AE included. I had heel slip in the 9.5UK Ron loafer, even though I wear 9.5 in Hiro and Olfe. I went down to a 9UK which was quite snug but had no heel slip. They stretched a little to better accommodate my length, but my pinky toe still gets a little pinched. I've started using trees in them recently (didn't want them to stretch too much) and I think they opened the width just enough. I have heard of people doing the usual one size down and using a tongue pad in the loafers. Bear in mind mine are suede, so maybe they stretch more than leather.

I can take a top down pic once I get home today.

I see a suede pair of loafers on Ebay for a 8.5 UK in the Ron last.

I also see some black calf leather loafers and they are a 9.0 UK in the Ron last. If I wear a 9.0 D US in Allen Edmonds (and the Park Avenue last fits me so welL), would either pair work for me? The seller says this : I have a pair of cole Hans which are size 10 and they fit great. But I would say this pair of meermin was at least 1/2 size too small.

So, if he is a Cole Haan 10 and I am a 9, and he says they are at least a half size too small for him (the UK 9 on Ron last), would these perhaps fit?

I think I would be a UK8 in the Hiro last.

By the way, I have a pair of Allen Edmonds suede loafers, Sea Island, in a 9.5 and they are a bit loose but really quite comfortable. If they were leather I might not have popped for them but in suede, really the looseness is a better feel
