So I just got my pair in the mail -- the color was "Marine Red", and they turned out to be much better than they looked on the website. I haven't seen original Nantucket Reds in the flesh, but based upon the photos I've seen online, the Marine Red from Lands End seems to do a good job.

Best part was the fact that they're so cheap in the overstocks. :icon_smile_big:

Ron,

I'm with you the fabric of the poly/cotton poplin blend is pretty cheap feeling, but for $15 I guess I can't complain. I haven't washed them yet, do they get any better?

I haven't washed or worn them yet. I agree that they are a steal at $15 (or whatever I paid for them on Overstocks). My concern is that they have sort of a shiny/silky finish.

Yeah i noticed that right away. When my wife came came she said they looked a little pink. i am somewhat color blind but I stood my ground, I trusted my perception of the color and the description of LE.

Make that three (or is it 4). On a whim, I ordered two pair of performance poplin pants from LE; one in marine red, the other in yellow.

Similarly, I haven't washed or worn mine yet either. They are a bit "shiny" but to me most poplin has a similar texture. The weather is warming here quickly so I anticipate an opportunity to wear them is just around the corner. If I happen to be the first to wash / wear them, I'll post back with a full report.
