Hugo Boss Sintrax, what do you think of this overcoat?

So I am looking for an overcoat mostly for business wear. Now I hardly wear a suit or even a blazer, but I would like to have an overcoat if the occasion arises and I would also like to upgrade my daily slacks+shirt combo with a decent outerwear.

I stumbled upon this coat on a BOSS outlet, 310 euros, color is probably blue-black while I was hoping for a gray/charcoal:

This is worn over a tight blazer and the fit is great as you can see I hope. What troubles me is the unique collar, which can close fully to protect from the cold, but is it dressy enough to be worn with a suit? Maybe the photos don't do it fully justice since you can open the collar up a bit more for a possible tie to show as shown here. Also, as the salesman added, when are you really gonna wear the coat buttoned up in Athens? (hot)

Now that's theirc-Sintrax model with "c" probably standing for casual. I am also considering their Sintrax5 model in charcoal shown below which should be slightly more suit worthy according to their site. The only difference I can notice is some extra fasteners(?) on the wrists. I tried it blazer-less on another BOSS store and it did slightly roomier although not enough to warrant a size down.

What do you think?

The sleeves will be the first thing to get tailored, agreed. On all the coats I tried, the sleeves were too big for me, short arms I guess.

As for the fit, I really like it like that. Looser coats don't look very good on me, at least when buttoned up. When they are opened up it's somewhat better. Vertically challenged persons must be a bit on the tight side when it comes to clothing imo. Besides, those gym hours must show somewhere!

How about its dressyness though? Do you think the charcoal option would be a better one?

No, no one needs things "on the tight side," including short guys. Short guys need well-fitted garments, just like everyone else. Clothing that is too tight does not look good; it looks like you're trying to be too trendy and failing. That's the opposite of 'class.'
Maybe you are right. Suppose then I do size up to 50 and the fit is alright. Would the ""unique"" collar make the coat suit-worthy? Do you think the charcoal option in the fourth link is a better one?
