I recently ebayed a pink j press university stripe oxford xl. It was so small and the material was very flimsy. PM if you want to buy it. More like a size large. the tag says Trunk Club. I was very disappointed. Anyone else experience this?

These have been floating around Nordstrom Racks for a while. Definitely trim fit. They've been priced at $20 IIRC. If they fit then not bad for a $20 shirt, but certainly not what we expect from JPress.

You returned something to Goodwill? As a donation or for a refund? Please tell me it's the former.

Speaking of Goodwill, I was there a few days ago. I found two blue Ben Silver OCBDs in my size and in perfect condition. $4.70 each. I am not returning them.
I donated them, it's not GWs fault that J Press decided to license their name. I was only out $5.99 and GW has been VERY good to me in the past .

I also got suckered by the J Press "junk" club shirt lol! I found one in a goodwill and could not be more chuffed until I got it home and really inspected it.. total garbage. Went right back to GW 
You didn't get suckered. They're labeled "trunk club," they're alpha sized and they're made in east Asia (China, maybe? Can't remember off the top of my head). Those factors should have raised some suspicions that they were essentially outlet-style quality compared to J. Press mainline items.

It's like saying you're upset with Brooks for putting out lesser quality products under the Brooks 346 label.

Thank you so much for the warm welcome to the forum lol .
I am an absolute newbie to this satorial subculture and I have never had the privilege of seeing, touching, smelling or wearing a genuine J.Press shirt. As I stated, I was flipping through the tags in a GoodWill and saw "J Press" ! I paid no attention to the trunk club label as had not heard of them until AFTER my purchase. When I got the shirt home, I realized that it was an inferior product and promptly re-donated it. $5.99 lesson learned and I stand by my initial statement that I was indeed suckered by a less than scrupulous advertisement for a known brand made from inferior material.
Nice to "Meet" you though.. I'm looking forward to you dissecting my future posts

My apologies. I didn't realize you were a new forum member. I should have taken notice of that. Didn't mean to beat you up on that one. Lots to learn here! And most members aren't as unpleasant as I am!

While I tend to agree it's not super deceptive, I can also see the argument for the other side. If J. Press is supposedly to stand for high quality, initially seeing the name on a label could understandably mislead someone. I don't think it's malicious though, just marketing.

I will admit that I ended up with a J. Press Trunk Club shirt via thrifting. I got excited at the label, but did note the Trunk Club and Made in India tag. I still went for it, it fit pretty well and was literally $1. It is by no means a good quality shirt, but is a nice light blue plaid and super lightweight, so it works well for a casual summer shirt in the brutal southeast humidity.

Like many here I admit that I am upset with Brooks for putting out lesser quality products under the Brooks 346 Label. Shame on them. J
