I paid a fair amount of money (for me) for 4 pairs of Samuelsohn trousers about a year ago.
In general, I'm not that happy with dry cleaning because of the smell and slight shine the fabric comes back with. I have also found over time that the length of the pants sometimes shrinks on cheaper fabrics, so I decided to try the Solvair CO2 dry cleaning, which is supposed to be the best method to dry clean your clothes as it does not set stains or cause shrinkage. As an added benefit, it is also environmentally friendly.
There is only one company that I could locate in Canada that offers CO2 cleaning, but as luck would have it, I was going to be in Toronto for a vacation.
I can say that I am happy with the results as there is no smell. Cost was about $45 Cdn for the 4 pairs, which is not too bad compared to conventional smelly perc.
