Just thought I'd share a little thing that happened this morning.
My wife and I are standing at a corner waiting for the light, when she said, "Wow! your shoes are so shiny."
"Thank you," I replied. I had very carefully polished them, but 2 weeks ago, and I had worn them several times since.
"No, look. It's creepy."
I looked down. There were 4 or 5 others waiting for the light and there amongst a sea of scuffed, dingy, dirty black shoes and boots, my chestnut brown captoe bluchers were catching the morning sun and glowing. Really glowing- it was a beautiful sight. Of course, everyone else had heard her, so they were now all staring at my glowing shoes, and I could even see a few inch away, either out of embarassment or fear I might explode. I was so sad when the light changed, and the moment was gone. Maybe I should pay her to complement my shoes like that in public more often...
So, perhaps this story isn't all that interesting, but it sure put a smile on my face today.
