Any thoughts on this Cornelliani? Seems like a good deal at this price even though it's been altered. Anyone have experience witht his seller?

Thanks,

Alex

I'm always skeptical of "new without tags" -- often it means "heavily used." However, the seller specifically states that the suit's never been worn, and he has good feedback. I've never dealt with him, so I don't want to impugn his auction. Just wish I saw a return policy.

Assuming it's an unworn suit, the price is reasonable. For a NWT patterned Corneliani, I consider $400 a good bargain. The tags and cut are recent. I like the brown color, though that may limit its desirability in the marketplace. Bet it would look ever better without that top button buttoned.

The inseam is pretty short. That will work for you, queueball?

Agreed. The one and only time I bought a NWOT from a new seller, it was a fake!
Not that I think this is, but I will not buy NWOT from a seller that I do not have a decent relationship with.

EL72 had warned me too, but it was too late, I had puled the trigger.

That guys NWOT is a bunch of a crap, he did a name change the store was something else about 6 months ago. He is like the Baron of Palm Beach guy with his "nwot" , translate that bought from ebay and relisted or from a resale shop.

If you are a 44R that is a common size to find and I purchased a nice Corneliani suit for travel in Navy from STP for around 300

Good catch gentleman. Indeed, something doesn't add up when an item is listed as "NWOT" yet it has a very unusual alteration. The only circumstance in which I may consider a suit "NWOT" with any alteration to actually be new is if it was a display or sample of some kind that was never worn outside of a store and even in this case, we're pushing the definition of "new" heavily.

I love Corneliani and if you're interested in them I would check out STP and also Moda In Style.

I have purchased from MIS and they are ultra reliable.

Not only should you check inseam length, but I always ask for rise measurement.
And in fact, one should check all measurements against garments one already owns and likes. ALL. Even if a seller is completely honest, garments of the same size but different cuts can fit very differently.

I once bought a NWOT suit that was actually NWOT. I knew it was a gamble, but it was a beautiful old-stock, black-and-white houndstooth by Samuelsohn. Oh, and the BIN price was TEN DOLLARS. Hey, I pulled the trigger, and it's actually more beautiful than I had imagined. And it didn't smell of old man or have a wine stain on it!
