I guess I just don't expect so much from ebay. I would never spend that much for a suit on ebay, because I don't trust them to know what it is, to have measured it correctly, or to have represented it correctly - either because they don't know or just don't want to say. But, sometimes this helps you. I have found at least 2 Golden Fleece suits that were listed as just Brooks Brothers. I bought 3 Paul Stuart suits that were listed as "Stewart" suits. Sellers aren't always conniving so much as average people who don't know much about suits.

Also, the 120's thing just doesn't really do it for me. I have 2 Loro Piana 120's Tasmanian suits, and it's a very good fabric, but it's nothing compared to my worst Oxxford super 100's in terms of wearability and hand. They don't drape as nicely and don't hold up to meetings and travel as well - and one of those Oxxford suits I purchased for 19.99 because I sniped it at an odd hour.

I guess it is it used or without tags, I'd never spend real money on it. If it is new and unhemmed that is a different story. Otherwise, maybe a rule of thumb is to look for the highest quality of suit at the lowest amount of money because almost certainly something will annoy you about the deal or the seller if you spend real cash.

Ah, LordRColton...I was wondering when you would post.

You can assail me all you want, but it will not draw me or other astute thinkers away from the fact that you misstated facts. Your posting, which I have read very, very carefully, is intentionally misleading, to say the least. I and many others are tired of eBay swindlers like you. And no, I have not added actual information about the suit because I am not pretending to know things that I can not prove. As to being an expert: I don't care who mentored you...I'd like to know how you can identify the supers number based on feel and sight. If you can accurately do that, you have a very special ability indeed.
This seller has changed his Ebay seller name from lordrcolton to barimenswear.

Little else has changed though!

Hi. Bought a used Canali Super 120's suit on ebay ten days ago, and received it today. Feels like nice wool, but not especially luxurious and I don't know if it is Super 120's, which certainly affected my bid price.
I will be adding to this thread soon. It seems these purveyors of fine clothing proclaim themselves more knowledgeable than Loro Piana and Hickey Freeman when it comes to rationalizing their auction claims for the Hickey Freeman suit I bought from them here:

I am still waiting for a reply from Hickey Freeman that is required to complete the documentation of their foolishness. When Hickey Freeman responds, I will post the entire exchange of emails between myself and this seller, and this Hickey Freeman response, here.

This exchange, when posted, will not be for the faint of heart ... especially if you drive a car made by the Honda Motor Company. (you'll see)

Stay tuned ...
