Very nice!

This a wonderful example of black shoes with brown.

Black goes very well with a very dark brown, such as a charcoal or espresso brown. With these deep, dark browns demand either a brown shoe of equal darkness or black. A lighter brown shoe with these deep browns would look awkward.

A newb here. I always try and recognize what is a trend and what is tradition. What I believe is a trend right now is that black shoes are out and brown in. And the brown is contrasted with suits that would traditionally call for black shoes. I don’t know why, in the spirit of current style trends, you wouldn’t wear black shoes with something that traditionally calls for brown and I think the right combo could look pretty cool.

You're right that black shoes being out is a trend, as is foregoing socks with everything. What is also trendy is pairing light brown shoes with colours that would not normally be paired with light brown shoes.

And you are right sir. Watch Trent Dilfer on a football show and he will be wearing a medium blue suit with A beige tint Oxford. I am not fond of this.

When I went looking the other day for a good example of brown cloth I felt could be complimented with black shoes, I couldn't find any that I thought exactly right. Just happened upon this, and while brown shoes will always be a desirable, choice this would be the brown with which to wear black shoes.
