AE Verona vs Alden Horse Bit Loafer

Gentlemen,
I would like to ask you about quality of Alden Horse Bit Loafer (Cap Cod Collection) and Allen Edmonds Verona Loafer. I know that Alden and Allen Edmonds make a good, high quality shoes. But I've it never worn. Usually I wear various models of C&J.
Now I intend to buy the horse bit loafer of Alden or Allen Edmonds for the first time. Would you choose for Alden Bit Loafer or for Allen Edmonds Verona?

I would say the main difference is the alden sole stitch is visible and the ae is not. Both are made of the same quality. Alden does offer the option of the same shoe in the flex welt line. It looks the same but is goodyear welted and pre broken in with oiled tanned leather soles. It will support you much longer with the the alden steel shank. Allen Edmond shoe only comes in D and EEE and the Alden comes in B D E EEE.

Cobblestone, thank you for this useful information. Last Friday I went to Amsterdam (I'm living in the Netherlands) looking for a nice horse bit loafers or suede tassel loafers for this summer. I would like to buy shoes that I can to wear at Bermuda pants. In one of many shoe store's I saw a beautiful Alden tassel loafers cordovan but not Alden Horse Bit Loafers (Cape Cod Collection). Alden Cordovan Loafers are in Europe very, very expensive - above $ 880. Gucci, Prada, Salvatore Ferragamo and Louis Vuitton loafers that I saw offer naturally not value for money. The price of different AE shoes was around $400 - $500.
I decided to go to Crockett & Jones store but they had any horse bit loafers … because there aren't horse bit loafers in C&J 2007/2008 collection. Unfortunately, they had not C&J Cavendish suede tassel loafers in their shop too. Tassel loafers are indeed not enough popular in Holland. I saw nobody to wear it. And … I 'm happy to wear the shoes that almost no one wearing
When I came back home I have ordered C & J Cavendish in my size UK 8.5 E on the Internet. But I still wanted to buy horse bit loafers. Frankly, I think AE Verona loafers nicer than Alden but they seem too much on the Italian brands. Alden is in this concern more exclusive in Europe. I will buy Alden Bit Loafers or AE Verona on the Internet. I hope that size US 9.5D of Alden would fit me well.
Could you tell me please the size US D (width) of Alden and AE is similar to the UK E? Are there any differences between Alden and AE size US D?
