Is the Brooks Brothers Country Club line actually intended to be worn at the club, or for that matter while playing golf? When playing golf I have always preferred the Ashworth clothing band, and cannot remember ever seeing someone wearing the Brooks Brothers brand playing golf. I like some of the country club styles of Brooks Brothers, but have been reluctant to include it in my clothing collection because I fear looking like I am on the golf course or at the club. I have on occasion worn mu Ashworth clothing instead of a non-golf polo, but feel as if someone would recognize it and think I were on my way to the course. So is this line intended for the club, or is it just a name? Also is Ashworth still in style on the course or am I outdated.

If you are being serious ....

I'll reply that it is just a name. I don't like all the items in the CC collection, but I have a few and I haven't played golf or been inside a country club facility in years. The blazers from the CC collection are Loro Piana super 130s and are much nicer than those in the 1818 Collections. I especially like the CC db blazer. I have three pairs of the CC trousers, and am pleased with them all: grey flannel, white flannel, white flannel with blue pin strips. I don't wear polo shirts or the cotton pants in the collection, so I can't comment on these.

If you actually worry about everything as much as you claim to do, you really must have an ulcer by now. BB's Country Club line is very nice and of generally quite good quality. Should you see something you like, buy it, wear it and enjoy it. Quit worrying so much...or you will be giving me an ulcer! ;)

The BB Country Club Line is only to be worn at your Country Club.

I recall a time when I was playing golf at a non-private course (not at my country club) and I was wearing a new BB Country Club shirt. The head pro came up to me and immediately put sugar in the fuel tank of my golf cart and very rudely asked me to leave and go back to my private club.

He continued shouting at me while I was walking back to my car, "Don't come back here unless you are wearing an Ashworth 60/40 poly-cotton blend polo shirt."

YES... the BB Country Club line is very, very specifically intended ONLY for club use.

BB actually employs a cadre of elite assassins who are devoted to culling the herd of anyone so direly unfashionable (and ignorant) as to wear the line in ANY other setting.

I myself always drive to the club in non- Country Club attire, change in my car after I park (alas, I can never avail myself of the valet), and THEN exit the car while safely in the club environs. I reverse this process on exit, carefully stowing the removed Country Club outfit in the trunk - safely out of sight - before I exit the club lot.

This is NOT something to be lax about!

No more than the Golden Fleece line is to be worn while sheering sheep.
Oh Dang! Well, that explains why the suits have turned out to be so terrible for that purpose :(

The BB Country Club Line is only to be worn at your Country Club.
I hate to disagree, but it is indisputable that the only proper place to wear the Brooks Brothers Country Club Line is at a Brooks Brothers Country Club. Line.
