Caruso would like you to enjoy their short movie The Good Italian, starring Giancarlo Giannini and shot in Soragna. (Soragna is the tiny (population 4,000) town in Emilia Romagna where the Caruso tailoring facilities are located!).

You'll really enjoy this film! Here are photos from my fantastic trip to the Caruso tailoring facilities!

The film focuses on "the essentials" of being an authentic Italian brand with an unpretentious, plain narrative of how simple it is to be a gentleman and how such capacity is ubiquitous and natural in Italy.

Only recently released it's become a hit on Facebook and U-Tube.

AND there is a very special Caruso contest for AskAndy Members!!

Watch the movie at www.thegooditalian.it and then click on "Learn More". You enter the contest simply by registering and leaving a comment (statement or word) about the movie. Make sure you mention AskAndy.

You'll be eligible to win a custom suit by Caruso, in pure Quattroventi fabric by Loro Piana exclusive to Caruso and to be fitted at the New York flagship store (45 East 58[SUP]th[/SUP] Street) only by appointment. The contest will end on July 31[SUP]st[/SUP].

If you're not able to make it to the New York flagship store other accommodations will be made for you.

Caruso has taken the next great step in online marketing! You can buy the clothes you see in the film! Just click on www.thecorner.com after the film!

And we're planning an AskAndy event at Caruso New York soon!

Oh, that was wonderful. Stay longer than the Frenchman? I'd apply to be the gardener and never leave! Now about the details of the event at Caruso . . .

I suspect I can afford to go, now, if we don't stay more than a day or two.

It would be, of course, at their new store in New York City. We're thinking late fall, but before it gets really cold. Maybe November?
Good. That's well after tourist season but still warm enough that 12 oz tweed would be appropriate. How long a stay? It would be a shame to miss a chance to eat at The Leopard with its famous murals while in NY. Upscale So Italian food in an atmosphere any Italian would appreciate?

Yes, NYC is overrun with tourists currently. November can be a little rough, weatherwise, in NYC, but certainly cool enough for 12 oz. tweeds, and I find it ironic that you mentioned the Leopard, as I have Sunday brunch there very often (as well as the occasional more gala evening meal). It is a delightful place (as is its larger sister restaurant, Il Gattopardo, on W. 54th St.).

I thought it was great and all my Italian relatives agreed. My Uncle Mike said he'd love to just get lost in that villa. Bring on the prosciutto and red wine!

Andy do you know when the contest ends?
I enjoyed the film. It reminded me of my aunt, who always had wonderful pasta made from scratch.

Wolfslair:
I think they will soon open the contest to the public and then maybe end it just a few months after that. ??

The Caruso contest has just been concluded with vast participation from the AAAC forum members, and a winner selected by a committee headed by Mr. Andy Gilchrist.

The winner is Wolfslair who has won a custom suit by Caruso, in pure Quattroventi fabric by Loro Piana exclusive to Caruso and will be fitted at the New York flagship store (45 East 58[SUP]th[/SUP] Street) on September 19[SUP]th[/SUP] by a visiting Master Tailor from Italy.

I greatly appreciate everyone's participation and would like thank you by sending you a special Caruso accessory, which has just been launched at our NY store.

It's called the Essential, and it is a holder carried in the front pocket of the jacket, so that it looks a bit like a decorated handkerchief (in various colours and fabrics) while it can contain anything flat and useful, such as business or credit card, ID, etc.

You will be contacted for an address where to ship it, at no cost to you.

I hope that you will appreciate and use it as well.

Yours sincerely,
Umberto Angeloni
