First, by way of my first post, let me extend a warm hello to this fantastic forum of folks and fans of men's fashion. I hope to learn how to look like a million bucks, while spending considerably less, from this extended family!

On to my question. I've spied a pair of Zegna Brown Oxford's on eBay that have piqued my interest. To date I have only purchased 1 Zegna item (of which at the time was all I could afford) a beautiful tie from the Zegna outlet in Orlando which I promptly left behind in a rental car in Sao Paulo, Br. Anyway....

What is the consensus on Zegna shoes? Good, bad, or otherwise. I'm a sucker for a beautiful brown capped toe oxford. Love the classic look. But before I make the leap on a bid would love to know other's experiences.

I am sorry about the lack of a fully definitive reply as I am not an expert on where or how the Zegna shoes are made. However I would proudly include their FAM shoes in my collection.

I suppose that I would be very careful getting a "good deal" on shoes on Ebay as that is something that should be tried on prior to purchase. It is incredibly hard to have a tailor alter a previously constructed shoe.

I have a pair of FAM loafers I got for about ~$170 at the outlet in Florence that I quite like. Very nice leather, and seem to be fairly well made (to my untrained eye). Not to the level of my C&J handgrades, but they can be found at substantially lower prices.

IIRC, Zegna shoes are made by a joint venture between Zegna and Ferragamo called ZeFer to Ferragamo mainline standards (well below Ferragamo Tramezza, but much better Ferragamo studio. Blake constuction).

The seller has "best offer" option, btw.

I saw that. I have zero experience with the shoe line but was thinking if the collective here had good things to say I'd put in an offer that would be more in line with my budget and/or a more reasonable price

I think they look good and I tend to like the more conservative look.

I have a pair of Zegna shoes and they are very comfortable and a very decent shoe.
The price is a touch high, I would make an offer rather hit buy it now.

As stated earlier the shoes are made by Farragamo. I have seen much better shoes for much lower prices. The toe box is not to my taste. The color is not rich and the shoe really lacks something. I wouldn't buy those for more than $175.

Look at Shipton and henage website for some nice captoes. Similar or lower price range.
