I blame Justin Fitzpatrick & his theshoesnobblog.

First, he promotes Yeossal's GMTO and teases with this textured brown Derby boot (which can be made with different lasts & leathers but I like the brown in the model)

and then follows up with Carmina's "Custom Weekend" which knocks more than $150 off these suede lace-ups.

Since I was already drooling over both, this puts me in quite a bind! Currently leaning toward the Yeossals, since Carmina will have another custom weekend and by the time the Carmina's arrive we'll be in winter and they seem more of a Spring/Fall boot.

I quite like the look of the Yeossal's brown Derby boot. Personally, I'd choose those over the suede lace-ups.

Be sure to come back here to this thread and post pics of the boots that you decide to buy.

Happy shopping!

Yup, I ordered the Yeossal's as shown in Utah brown, adding a Vibram sole which shouldn't affect the look. I figured the Carmina was more of an Autum season boot so ordering now would be unwise. But if they again waive the MTO fee in April...

Well, it was a bit of a saga, but it's finally over. The Patterson's arrived in late Nov and were huge. It was weird, UK 9 has fit for several other brands, including a pair of Meccariellos I had ordered from Yeossal. I sent some pictures and they recommended I step down a whole size to UK 8, and I was pretty nervous that the new boots would be too small. But Yeossal came through! Boots are nice and snug. My right foot is a bit larger than the left; you can see the opening is a bit larger on the right boot, but there's no slipping and the boot closes completely above the ankle. The snugness is around the balls of the feet/forefoot but it's already beginning loosen with only an hour's wear, so I'm hopeful with a few more wearings it will fully relax. The leather is buttery soft, and the crossgrain lovely.

So, thank you Yeossal! This also confirms my intention to more carefully measure my foot for any future MTOs, but for my first full boot, I'm really happy!
