Gentlemen,

I noticed that virtually all the parcels I receive from UK come with simple paper cards with a company logo and two words -- "With Compliments". Almost always there is nothing else written on a card; but there is a plenty of blank space on it.

What are these cards for? Simply a way to say "thank you"?

Think of it as a business card with a focused purpose

Think of it as a business card with a focused purpose. When I was at a law firm we had these to send as a transmittal or cover to an article, small gift, and the like. It was not to be used for sending an item that was related to the work immediately at hand (i.e., not to send a draft), but to send something that was useful (like an article from a newspaper or legal journal), or a small gift (bottle, book, cd, etc.).

Usually we had slightly less information on it than would be on the regular business card; for instance:
