Let me preface this by saying that I am probably the youngest and almost certainly the least sartorially experienced person on this list.

That said, what is so bad about non-iron shirts? Or, as someone on this list so amusingly implied, what puts non-iron shirts on the same level as the clip-on bowtie?

I’ll be starting a job as a trader in the fall and there is something very seductive about a shirt that looks impeccably pressed after 12 hours at work. I have a few of the ‘special order’ from Brooks that I get professionally laundered and starched - granted they don’t feel silky by any stretch of the imagination but don’t they make up for that by staying so crisp?

I hope that doesn’t sound argumentative – I’m just eager to learn the ways of the well-turned-out.
