Who had it first, Brioni or Ralph Lauren?

Anyone ever notice the similarity between the Polo "polo pony" and the Brioni "polo pony"? Has Brioni used this logo from the beginning? If so, how did Ralph Lauren get away with choosing a logo that is so similar when he created Polo?

Horse Hockey

Brioni derives its name from a group of islands in the Adriatic sea that were an exclusive resort. Polo was played there, hence the Brioni bemberg motif. Forgive my presumption if you already knew.

PRL was established in 1967.

Brioni was established in 1945, but Brioni suits have not always had the polo player motif lining.

Which polo player came first????? Dunno.

It has been my understanding that the Ralph Lauren polo player emblem made its debut in 1971, as an adornment to the shirtcuffs of Ralph Lauren's then newly launched tailored womenswear collection.
OK. No argument here. The first I recall were in the early mid 70's on OCBD shirts. Thank you.

Now, about the Brioni?
