Which shoes?

I'm going out on a date later, nothing fancy. I'm wearing some tan chinos and a short sleeve button down shirt. Can I get away with wearing canvas shoes or should I stick with my loafers? The chinos aren't necessarily on the casual side, so I'm not sure if I can pull off the canvas shoes.

It’s date number 2. We are just going to an early dinner then to Dave and Busters to play games, so it’s going to be a casual evening.

No downside because the loafers already give a somewhat casual vibe?

Thanks guys. I didn’t think the canvas shoes would work and wanted to make sure. My Johnston and Murphy Danbury penny loafers are my new favorite shoes.
