Hi,
I live just outside of Boston, but am currently in Dublin. I will be back home for a month come this Saturday and then return to Dublin. I have been to several boutiques and shops around me to find a Chesterfield overcoat to no avail. I am looking for a coat which is
  • 100% wool
  • Charcoal or navy (preferably the former)
  • Notched lapels, preferably velvet collar but that is not a big deal
  • Knee-length, not ankle-length
  • Made in the US or UK
  • Below $600
I have been able to find one online, but it is made in China. I like the idea of supporting domestic tailoring. I would be interested in made-to-measure options as well, but I doubt they would be under $600.
Thank you in advance for any information.

If you don't mind buying vintage, you may want to check out thrift shops in both Boston and Dublin, just to see what is available. I have found a range of SB and DB 100% wool overcoats of almost every kind, all made in the US or UK, in the last couple of years, right here in Wisconsin. Many of these were either mint with tags or in close to mint condition. My average cost for a single coat (ticking most of your boxes but in various colours), was between $15 and $25.
