Or eBay. I just bought a solid green silk Polo knit tie, new with tags, 2 1/4 inches wide, at a bargain. People don't want 'em all that much these days, which is nice for me.

With patience, you should have some good luck whatever you're looking for.

Any good tailor can slim down nearly any tie to your specific width specifications. Expect to pay $15 to $25 for such a service. I do it at least twice a week.

From the ties I have seen from the 60's, they measure approximately 2 3/4" in width give or take a 1/4". If you would like to purchase skinny ties from a retail store, it is somewhat difficult to get high quality skinny ties. I have seen a decent collection of quality ties at Century 21 Department store but their selection varies greatly season to season. Charles Tyrwhitt has a few good skinny ties.
