In today's What footwear...?, SJG posted a great pic that got me wondering, where are the glen plaids? I don't recall seeing many suits or trousers, the closest being the occasional tweed described as having a glen plaid pattern (which may be somewhat incorrect). I thought that the Prince of Wales (= Duke of Windsor) was the one to popularise this pattern in the US when he toured the East Coast during the 1930s, leading to its popularity (along with brown shoes) among Ivy Leaguers in the 1940s. This would be enough, imo, to qualify as trad.

Sure they're available, but are our well-dressed associates on this forum wearing them? If so, when and where? I have a Hickey Freeman two button that I like, but I don't see them showing up a lot in the WAYW threads.
