Fantastic - another priceless comment! He has a point as my view remains that trainers are for training - nothing else!

Work clothes v. workout clothes

I just resent the tyranny of the casual. If you want to dress less casually, you are questioned. It's all part of the "leveling" that has always been a part of the workplace, where the high achiever is regarded with suspicion.

I've encountered a variant of "leveling" that I term Snow White's Stepmother. As soon as your boss realizes he/she isn't the Fairest Of Them All, he/she sends out poison apples to get rid of the perceived competition.
