My personal preference is probably kissing stacked - I suspect that will be the least favored option of the forum. For some reason it has just grown on me although clearly I don't like leaving the last button undone (almost de rigueur these days) and I abhor the last button hole having a different color.

I prefer kissing slightly over non-kissing so that was my vote. In saying that, my favorite blazer has kissing stacked cuffs. My issue with stacked is that inevitably, one of the buttons will flip position and become "un-stacked." That tends to look sloppy to my eye.

Are folks treating them as bling, or as actual buttons to be used like or appear to be used like actual buttons? If the latter, then they probably shouldn't touch, crowd, kiss or date each other. My vote's for that.
You can have them working or non working. That's a different question. I suppose one could prefer buttons one way if they are working and another way if they are non working. The waterfall buttons are a bit harder to button and unbutton.

Things get a little crazy if you factor in metal shank buttons. It could be somewhat challenged to do kissing and stacking with those buttons.

My preference: kissing for shank buttons and functional button holes, waterfall for non-functional flat buttons. Exception: two buttons functional holes with a bit of distance is fine by me.

I cant lie my last 3 jackets have waterfall buttons. They have grown on me. I just cant wear what I see 90% of other people wearing I suppose. They are all working cuffs but to be honest I cant remember the last time I unbuttoned them so functionality isnt that important to me.
