What to wear with this green spring jacket?

Hello all, I have purchased a cotton jacket from Polo, it is green/white micro check but green is clearly the dominant color. It is a severe departure from my normal every day clothes. How does one most effectively utilize such an item? I have light weight navy/beige slacks but they are wool. What color shirt? Is a polo acceptable? Shoes, sandals? HELP!
