White shirt, navy trousers and a navy tie w/white pin dots. That's how I would roll with it! ;)
+1, except I'd do a navy emblematic tie.

The bright red in this jacket will somewhat limit it's versatility. Were I to wear it, it would only be a summer jacket. You might also be able to wear white duck trousers and some khakis. With either of those a light blue shirt would be fine, but I'd stick to ties of mainly navy blue. (Unless you really want to go '70's retro and did a Lilly Pulitzer! Maus and Hoffman still sells them for the season. :icon_smile_wink:)

I agree with the advice in this thread, but I'd stay away from pindots -- a polka dot could be good, but navy pindots are more at home with suits than with something as "casual" (within the hierarchy of tailored clothes) as this.

Interesting. I'd try it with the plainest stuff: blue oxford, khakis, navy knit tie, white linen handkerchief folded in a square. With something that out there, you need to reel it in. Nice jacket, though, if it were a summer weight it would be much more appealing to me, at least. Tough colors for winter.
Good luck!

I'm thinking I'd go with a blue OCBD and chinos, and probably a navy tie. With navy trou you may risk looking too much like a walking Uncle Sam/American Flag. Ahhh, who am I kidding, I wouldn't wear that at all, as I don't have the swagger to pull it off. This is one of those fine line things where you could either look great, or total disaster. Very little middle ground.

The most important thing required for this outfit is a very stiff drink or three, with cheeks flushed to match the red overcheck. If you are in an environment where being soused is not OK, then this jacket won't work no matter what you pair it with. With the drinks, though, you won't give a sh!t about whether your OCBD should be blue or white. Thus, the drink is the main thing.

Gin and tonic's a good choice, though an old-fashioned martini would work OK. It seems fairly obvious to me that the intended use of this jacket is for wear at some loathsome family gathering during a summer holiday where there will be many unbearable relatives. Combined with various sneers and eye-rolls, this jacket can be used to sieze the offensive intiative, really taking the fight to your aunt Miriam and cousin Biff, at least until you pass out in the sun on an Adirondack chair. The lower patch pockets can be used to hold a flask on one side and a hot dog* on the other. "Happy 4th of July, you miserable [email protected]." Try not to get written out of the will.

*Substitute a lobster roll on Cape Cod, or a single boiled crab if near the Chesepeake Bay.

I'll take this in a different direction and suggest that it might look sharp with a very light pair of khakis and a dark blue or red polo (or solid colored dress shirt) in a casual, semi-dressy summer situation.
