I saw a shirt with what looked like a French cuff but with a button and a little tab; was told it was an Italian cuff - is this an esoteric style of shirt or relatively common somewhere in the world - comments appreciated - thanks.

Well, this answers the question of what that style of cuff is called. I've seen them depicted on shirtmaker's websites, but I'd never heard their name. Also never seen anyone actually wearing them, so I'll join the request for an explanation of the benefits of them (if any)

Does he have a gathered cuff on there as well like old T&A shirts?

Did they make the shirts for these movies or was it Dougie Hayward?
A gathered cuff, such as the bought-on-ebay-then-ruined by-wayward-wax-crayon-in-the-washing-machine-vintage-1980s-e-bay one im wearing right now is a thing of beauty.
The original meaning of T and A is still the best one...
