I actually have two, bought about 6 months apart. I was in college, and a mentor told me to get a good, reliable watch and which one to get. I paid $275 for mine and $50 more 6 months later the second one. This was in an Army Post Exchange.
Interesting to point out - I was wearing a wind-up stretch band Timex at the time, and now "years later" it still works with ZERO maintenance done on it.
I got mine, and my dad liked it, and got him one for his Birthday. Sadly, he passed on and now each son of mine will have one. Oldest son, 27, wants nothing to do w/ a wrist watch. He got a good watch for HS graduation, never wore it. He got a decent watch for football Championship, never wore it. Told him he can have mine "when I go"...told me he'd sell it! He's being a wise ass..( I hope!!)
Son #2, 26, got my dad's, and wears it occasionally - mostly as a jewelry piece. This generation just does not have an interest in a wrist watch.
A local jeweler wanted to trade me for a Pepsi GMT Master, which I'd really like to have, but I have sentimental attachment to the ones I have.
