After an academic conference next week in Groningen, I'll be spending two days in Amsterdam, staying near the city center.

Although I don't intend on doing any shopping there, what else should I do? Unfortunately the Rijksmuseum is largely closed, and the "Heineken Experience" is shuttered as well. I will, of course, need to walk (and only walk) through the Red Light district.

Amsterdam is a wonderful city to just walk around in and a very good eating city. I'd highly recommend Casa Di David, one of the best Italian restaurants in the world. (https://www.casadidavid.com/). If you'd like to sample traditional Dutch cooking Haesje Claes is also recommended (https://www.haesjeclaes.nl/?language=en_EN).

Bon voyage!

Cordially,
A.Q.

I was just there a coupe of months ago. Here's what I'd recommend:
1. Stedelijk Museum: it is in a temporary location but it is still amazing. Well, if you like modern and technological art. Unbelievably creative and interesting exhibits.
2. The Albert Cuyp Market (https://www.amsterdam.info/shopping/albert_cuypmarkt/)
3. Van Gogh Museum
4. Red Light District...it is very interesting.
5. Have a Belgian beer! ;)
