Does a vest with a full back take longer to make than a vest with a partial back (sometimes call backless, which is no back other than around the neck and waist)?

Also, is a vest with a full back a faux pas for black tie, morning dress, stroller dress and white tie and tails?

To make the back of a waistcoat is not a lot of work, so I don't imagine that making a backless waistcoat would save much time.

Because the back of a waistcoat is never seen when properly dressed, nobody will ever know if your waistcoat has a full back or not. So how can waistcoat with a back be a faux pas? And have you ever seen a waistcoat for morning dress? I have never seen a waistcoat for morning dress or black lounge (stroller) that didn't have a full back (unless it was a hired waistcoat). Backless waistcoats are common for black tie and white tie, but they can certainly have a full back.
