Hello,

I've been looking for a decently-priced trench coat for a long time but haven't had much luck. Just now, I found exactly what I'm looking for at a very reasonable price on ebay. the only thing is that I don't know what my coat size is. How do I figure that out. The coat is a 40short, but I don't know if it will fit me. I wear 15.5 shirts, with 32/33 sleeves. I'm 5'9~5'10, 145(i'm pretty slim). Please help me figure out if this will fit me, as time is running down on the ebay auctions. Thanks!

Probably not. It is better to not get one than get one that doesn't look right. I actually got a trench coat when I joined the army, you could try a surplus store, I bet they have them on the cheap.

nooooo...lol. it's marked down $550. I have a 40R sport coat that is a bit long, do you think that I could get away wearing a 40S?
I was 5'10" when I got my trenchcoats, and got longs, because I like them long. You could wait about 40 or 50 years, and wear it then, as it will probably fit. Or, get it now if you're going for a sort of '70's Goldie Hawn type of look.

These are pics of me in a 40R blazer. I realize that fit will fluctuate between companies, but do you think it would be worth ordering a 40S trench coat? If it doesn't fit, i can return it but do you think it's worth taking the chance? this is an off the rack blzer that i haven't gotten to taylor yet, so i think it's a good base to compare with.

Where are the Pictures? I agree w/ Flanderian. My partner is 5'8" and he wears a short. 5'10" is a regular. Brooks Bros. should have something for you.
