Esquire's Big Black Book describes the unlined blazer as the "Rolex GMT Master II" of off-duty clothing. Do you agree? Is it worth searching one out--for less than the $2175 Ravazolo they mention?

What fabric, color and options would you consider?

I've been wearing blazers and sport coats with jeans as casual wear for years, heck I guess we can say decades now, and I've never owned an unlined blazer or sport coat. I'm not sure why that is because I've tried on dozens of them over the years, but for some reason I just never liked them. I just wear my regular old sport coats and blazers even if I'm wearing them with sneakers.

If it's unlined, consider hopsack or fresco cloth. The purpose of unlined is to keep you cooler, and porous cloth helps.

And warm weather blazers should be a bit lighter in color than their cooler weather relations.

Three gilt buttons, swelled edges, and patch pockets would be my choice.
