Good Afternoon Everyone,

I was curious about what Albert Thurston means when they describe a pair of braces as "tubed" or "with tubing". Can anyone give me any insight on this?

Thanks!
I've not encountered the term before outside of changing flats. ;)

But my surmise, based upon the suspenders so described, is that they are formed from a piece of fabric doubled and sewn, rather than woven as a single piece of fabric, thereby forming a tube.

This is exactly what I needed to know. Many Thanks!
Quite welcome!

Mr. Winston's post confirms my surmise.

FWIW, I have many pair that employ this construction, and given that they're well made, I find them just as desirable as those made from a single piece of cloth. Don't get a chance to wear them very often any longer, but among my collection, I can recall having those made this way from silk, Fairisle knit and and paisley velvet!
