What styles or makers of furniture that fit in with the American "trad" ideal? In terms of styles, Shaker, Mission, Chippendale? In terms of makers, Stickley, Dana Robes, Thomas Moser or some small workshops hidden somewhere in Vermont or Maine?
For me, "trad" furnitures must be well-made, long lasting, understated and timeless. It must be made out of quality solid hard wood like quarter-sewn oak, walut, cherry and maple. Absolutely no veneer. I think Shaker would fit nicely with American "trad" style and ideal.
