Just wondering if anyone else on this board views their choice of clothing as a bit of a "political statement". Not sure if I'm using the correct term here, but what I mean is that my choice of clothes, while not intended to offend, are intended to reflect my somewhat independent nature.
My mind was wandering this morning and I realized that, for me, (and I realize this might sound very odd and counter-intuitive) my choice of vintage Brooks button-down, chinos and Alden shoes actually is a form of rebellion against the mediocrity and informality of the casual corporate culture around me. How strange, I thought, to view my choice of historically conservative clothing as a form of subtle self expression and non-conformance!
Anyone else out there on the same wavelength?
