It wasn't this morning, but on Saturday evening we saw our 15 and 17 year old grandsons off to their Homecoming dance, both wearing braces and bow ties...and looking pretty darned spiffy to this proud Grandpa's (and Grandma's) eyes! ;)

It's all cyclical, we should enjoy it while we can. But I hope we can delay the return of bell bottoms as long as possible.
Having lived through the last iterration of Bell Bottoms, I was going to say, "they didn't suck me into the fad the first time around and I won't allow myself to be sartorially sucker punched with bell bottoms now and/or in the future." However, Mrs Eagle just advised she thought she recalled seeing a photo from 1972 showing me wearing a pair. Damn, I thought I had destroyed all the evidence!

And we were all 3" taller in 1978.

Eagle, are you sure those "bell bottoms" were not in reality "flared" trousers? I never wore bell bottoms, but in the early 1970s my casual trousers were all "flares" because I didn't have much choice--that's what the clothing stores stocked.

^^
Charles Dana, I suspect you may be right...they must have been flared leg trousers, if for no other reason than as I said, I never bought a pair of bell bottoms. Thank you. LOL, I have to sign off now and tell SWMBO she was wrong!
