You should be fine. If in doubt, opt for a solid navy tie but otherwise I don’t think it’s too much blue.

One of my rare times as an outlier, the shirt and tie look great together, but I've never been a fan of a navy (or near navy) tie with a navy suit. I know it is done all the time, but I think the tie and suit jacket need more color contrast in the same way I wouldn't wear a dark grey tie with a dark grey suit.

I am in both camps. On a fashion forum this combination works. On the trad forum I’d go with Fading Fast’s concern over navy suit with navy tie. In the trad world I just don’t wear any shade of blue tie with a blue shirt, but in the larger world of fashion I think this combination is quite nice. There is a lot of irony here as the trad world draws so heavily on Anglophilia, and London is very fashion forward.

I think one of the things that’s throwing me off is that the tie and shirt are pictured apart and not together. They are both represented perspectives different from one another so it’s hard to gauge the scale of the dots against the stripes of the shirt.

Using my imagination, however, I still think it looks fine.

That is a great combination and will look fine with a blue (or many grey) suit.

I think the only other caveat is just how dark is the suit? If you have some mild contrast between the tie and the suit it will look better than if there is no contrast. I do usually find myself wearing lighter color blue ties than the one pictured with a dark blue suit.
