For $350 sounds like a good deal although I'd prefer a darker color. Right now I have a Croft & Barrow jacket which looks good but is not very warm and a VERY warm parka I bough from a sports shop which is not stylish. Any other brand you'd suggest?
Nothing if your fine with it. While I have one of their peacoats and two others of their's in wool/nylon blend, they'reThe O'Connell's doesn't look bad. What's wrong with having synthetics in?
I have that Schott pea coat, heavy and somewhat stiff and slim fitting, coarse texture. I bought it through an outfit called Legendary, they suggest sizing up with good reason. Mine is size 46. I'm currently between a full 42 and 43/44 slim and that coat is still slim on me though it does fit, couldn't wear a very bulky sweater with it.Thanks for the info Eclectic. Here are a few more I found. From Shcott for $360: https://www.schottnyc.com/products/classic-wool-naval-pea-coat.htm
Very good looking.
The J.Press is 100% wool at $237.00Thanks for the info Eclectic. Here are a few more I found. From Shcott for $360: https://www.schottnyc.com/products/classic-wool-naval-pea-coat.htm

From a vintage shop:
$100
$190
The Reiss can be had for $300 after rebate. The O'Connell is "75 percent reprocessed wool, 25 percent nylon and other fibers."
Glad I bought all mine when I did, at least 5-6 years ago. The overcoats I got from them are 100% wool and fairly heavy, 2 of which are on the trim side but still comfortable over a suit. I haven't seen anything from them lately that I would purchase. I could never buy or be able to wear suits or sport jackets from them. I have no need to purchase such items any longer, have way too much, but there are still some merchants out there that carry proper outerwear. Suitsupply is another one when it comes to overcoats.I walked into a Reiss for the first time a couple months ago and I was appalled at the quality. While I did not see this pea coat, I looked at a few top coats that were unwearable. The cuts were such that it was impossible to move the arms. The salesman asked me why I need so much arm movement, and I told him that I need to be able to drive wearing an overcoat and that I sometimes need to grab a pole on the subway or bus. The cloths of these topcoats were also not proper cloths for these and were sports coat weights. The salesman didn't think that people should want warmth or wearability from their coats, just a "slim" style. I didn't get the impression that anything from Reiss would be worth $350.
I have the dark grey one, the reprocessed wool+nylon+poly blend made me very hesitant initially.Awesome. O'Connell does not have my size and JPress's return policy sais that "Items discounted at more than 25% purchased online or by phone are not refundable".
I get one of these two:

What do you think of it in terms of stylishness?I have the dark grey one, the reprocessed wool+nylon+poly blend made me very hesitant initially.
I've had it 4 years though and wear it daily in the winter, and there is no wear and tear at all. It's a beast of a coat at 32 oz. wool.
I enjoy it, especially the colour vs. a typical dark navy peacoat. Pair it with a nice scarf and you've a nice casual coat to last you all winter. What do you think of it in terms of stylishness?
Great, which ever one you choose wear it well, enjoy.Awesome. O'Connell does not have my size and JPress's return policy sais that "Items discounted at more than 25% purchased online or by phone are not refundable".

I'm the same size as you. Where did you find size 34? Smallest I can find is 36.I enjoy it, especially the colour vs. a typical dark navy peacoat. Pair it with a nice scarf and you've a nice casual coat to last you all winter.
Don't expect a slim fit though, this is a full cut jacket all throughout.
My chest size is 36 inches, and I ordered a 34. I have enough room for a chunky sweater to fit underneath.
I bought mine from the Schott website.I'm the same size as you. Where did you find size 34? Smallest I can find is 36.
Good point. I wear the parka that I have only when the temperature is near or below freezing. Doesn't happen all the time but enough to have warm coat.I bought mine from the Schott website.

I'd recommend e-mailing or phoning CS to get a second opinion for sizing as well.
Also I see you live in VA. Depending on how you plan on wearing it and layering, it may be too warm considering it's 32. oz wool.
I absolutely agree - you should not be being full price or even 50% off prices at Reiss.I walked into a Reiss for the first time a couple months ago and I was appalled at the quality.
