Honestly, I don't disagree with Oldsarge's conclusion regarding the desirability of the first suit, but it would be a tough choice deciding between the first and the third suit pictured.

They're very similar. I wonder if the lighting were the same for each if they wouldn't be nearly identical.

Good eye! The suit coat designs are very similar, as you suggest, but the vest designs are quite different. The collared vest with the third suit is more appealing to my eye.

While I prefer the vertical line of the single breasted version in the first. The blue stripe in the POW glen check is an added attraction. Still, handsome suits, all three.

I love that fabric! And I love the idea of a contrasting button on the waistcoat. I wonder if the suit jacket has similar buttons? I would think so.

No. The middle one's bad news. It needs shoulders. Not the suit, the guy wearing it. Amazing what decent anatomy will do for clothes.

Just a single one as you mention, or the others we can't see? And what else would you put there but contrasting buttons, gray? Nah. Besides, contrasting's not the proper adjective. Harmonizing is, and they do.

Unusual amount of slope. If that is really his anatomy I suppose a more padded shoulder might work a bit better than the pagoda shoulder. It is a weird look.

Amazing timing finding this thread about a week after getting back my old friend and don't give a flip if wrong in so many ways. Still don't know why Opa would by a three piece suit, mostly wore odd sport coats when needed. Paired with a modern shirt, modern Brooks Brothers tie, and a modern Panama.

Though back then I was a plump 215 pounds and couldn't fit the vest or pants, though the latter I thought was just the style... Oh the horrible things we do in our youth.

I noted that someone maintained that one needs a washboard stomach in order to effectively wear a three-piece suit. As a newly minted senior citizen, with the requisite amount of excess avoirdupois one inevitably acquires with age, I beg to differ, with photos of myself, and my three-piece ensembles as evidence to the contrary.

Even with the dreaded ten pounds the camera adds to a person's body, you look like you still have a washboard stomach at your age (62 and up is a senior citizen, for what it's worth), upr crust. If you're still under 62, you're not yet a senior citizen.

However, if you just turned 65, you've been a senior citizen for three years now (which I guess is still fairly newly minted). I've got 17 years and six days to go before I'm a senior citizen.
