I noticed the same phenomenon decades ago in men's vs. women's clothes: women's aren't expected to hold up to extended wearing, as they'll go out of "style" (fashion) before they break down. Those companies can refuse to use the term landfill fashion if they want, but that's still what it is. Basted together cheapass crap that half their wearers' ultra cool clubbing "audience" isn't even looking at to start with
