I am trying to figure out what to wear to a Thanksgiving dinner. I plan on wearing my brown corduroy pants with embroidered turkeys on them. What kind/color sport jacket should I pair with these? I figure a blazer might be too formal.

Are you going to a Thanksgiving Dinner where most of the people wear dress clothes? (Few people do this any more.) If not, just wear a nice wintery casual shirt or shirt and sweater. Since the pants will be bold, I would be inclined to wear a solid sweater (or solid shirt with no sweater.)

Elastic waist band sweat pants that are well broken in!

seriously though, my wife and I typically go to brunch on Thanksgiving so I keep it casual. Usually cords and a sweater. Something in Fall colors. Depends on the weather too, of course.

We usually will stroll down to the Christkindlemarket and walk off the meal so that also becomes a consideration on how to dress.

How about pairing a solid toned shirt and a forest green cardigan sweater with those wonderful embroidered corduroys. It wasn't for a holiday dinner, but I used to do that with a pair of rust colored corduroys with black Scottish Terriers embroidered on them. Almost every time I wore those trousers in public, I would get multiple compliments. But, alas, at some point they seemed to have shrunk and I really could have used that elastic waistband SG 67 mentions in the post above! LOL. ;)
